About

Designing an residential life experience that holistically considers the needs of users across diverse age groups.

In the summer of 2022, I interned at Daylight Design LLC, Seoul Studio, where I had the incredible opportunity to collaborate with my team on a project focused on designing the Xi Residential Experience and developing design guidelines.

This experience allowed me to further expand my skills as a product designer. I also gained valuable experience in collaborating and communicating with the client’s team, ensuring that our design solutions aligned with their goals and expectations.

My primary focus was on crafting user-centered design solutions with deep insights that aligned with our clients’ goals and values. Due to an NDA, I cannot share specific details, but feel free to reach out to me for more information

Retrospect

A valuable project that allowed me to identify both my strengths and areas for improvement.

This project involved an in-depth six-month research process aimed at designing the living experience for XI Apartments, encompassing residence of all age groups.

Given the long-term nature of the project, it provided me with a valuable opportunity to deeply experience almost every aspect of UX design. It was especially meaningful as it helped me identify my weaknesses and areas for improvement, while also gaining a clear understanding of my strengths as a designer.

Keep

  • Adopt a proactive approach by not only utilizing the resources provided but also leveraging my own network to find interviewees to extract higher quality interview insights.

  • Providing rapid prototyping to facilitate effective visual communication.

Problem

  • Since it was a design project centered on residential experiences, it was challenging to recruit senior participants for the on-site interviews.

  • When several high-quality visual features were required within a short timeframe, I tended to focus too much on the details, which slowed down the process.

Try

  • Continuously explore flexible methods for interviews and conducting user tests that can adapt to participants across a wide age range.

  • Focus on building the ability to quickly visualize ideas, rather than getting caught up in the details.
